Strathmore Hardbound Art Journals give artists the choice of drawing, watercolor, mixed media and toned sketch papers, the same high quality papers used in Strathmore’s fine art pads. They are available in a variety of sizes: 5½" × 8½", 8½" × 11", and 11" × 14". The lightly-textured, matte cover is a dark chocolate brown, and the durable Smyth-sewn binding allows pages to lay flatter. The paper in all of the journals is acid-free.

The Recycled Drawing journals include a bright white drawing paper that has a Very Good rating for graphite pencil, colored pencil, charcoal and sketching stick, and which is also rated Good for soft pastel, oil pastel, marker and pen & ink. The recycled paper contains 30% post-consumer fiber.

The Watercolor journals include an intermediate grade watercolor paper that has a strong surface ideal for watercolor, gouache and acrylic. The natural white color and traditional cold press surface allows for fine and even washes, as well as lifting and scraping applications.

The Mixed Media journals include a professional quality paper that is internally sized for wet media and has a durable vellum finish for drawing techniques. The 100% cotton fiber paper is excellent for watercolor, gouache, acrylic, graphite, pen & ink, colored pencil, marker, pastel and collage.

The Toned Sketch journals are available in Warm Tan and Cool Gray. The sketch paper is ideal for light and dark media and is 100% recycled (30% post-consumer fiber).
