We’ll admit that we are a little old-fashioned and aren’t even planning on putting up our holiday decorations until after Thanksgiving. But we will embrace the new-fangled notion of day-after-Thanksgiving deals. (We won’t call it Black Friday, since we’re already in the black for the year.)

You might recognize these Pen & Ink Sketch Books from Art Alternatives as being similar to a product from another company that doesn’t actually involve the skin of any moles. The 3.5×5.5″ sketch books come with lines, grids, or just plain paper (as well as in a landscape format with plain paper). The MSRP for these is $9.99, and you may have seen some varieties of these on our clearance table recently for $4.99. We were able to get our hands on more, and we’re blowing them out for the incredible price of $2.99 each.

truckload canvas sale: pre-order case deals

We’re getting closer to our anniversary and the accompanying truckload canvas sale. Many of you took advantage of the early-bird specials last week, and now we’re opening up the full range of sizes for pre-ordering by the case. The cases range from 65% to 85% off.

Check out the full list of case sizes and prices available for pre-order. We’ll be taking orders until November 7, and the cases will be available for pick-up starting on November 14.

The canvases are made by Art Alternatives. Natural, unbleached medium-weight (8oz) cotton duck is stretched around specially designed, kiln-dried stretcher bars, and held in place with a flexible spline allowing these canvases to be painted on all four edges as well as the canvas surface. The surface is triple-primed with acid-free acrylic titanium gesso and staple-free on the sides. Studio Stretched Canvas features a ⅞” edge, and Gallery Stretched Canvas features a thick 1½” edge. Both are suitable for oil and acrylic painting.

Cold Wax Medium from Gamblin is a simple mixture of pure beeswax, Gamsol Odorless Mineral Spirits, and a small amount of alkyd resin. This versatile medium can be added directly to oil colors as a painting medium, used to modify the surface quality of Gamblin Galkyd painting mediums, as well as used alone as a matte varnish.
